LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOP

Design, handprint and make your own fabric lantern

£85 (includes your tuition, creative materials and refreshments)

Brighten up your winter with this one-day creative workshop.

Join me to learn how to design, carve and handprint your very own fabric lantern.

In this workshop:

  • You will learn how to design and carve your own lino block to create a pattern on fabric.

  • I will guide you through all the creative processes from design inspiration, carving your block, printing your fabric, to making your lantern.

  • Gain from small group tuition (places limited to 6 participants).

  • Enjoy an inky morning printing your designs, followed by an afternoon of learning how to build your lantern.

  • A fun and creative way to kick-start the new year and bring some handmade light into the depths of winter.

You will produce:

  • Your own lino block, ready to use on the day and in future projects at home.

  • A series of test prints on fabric.

  • Your own handprinted fabric lantern for tea lights, ready to brighten up your home.

All materials will be provided.

Light refreshments available but please bring your own packed lunch and an apron.

Join Textile Artist Jess Rayson at the Yard Print Studio for this one day workshop on how to carve your own lino block and handprint your design onto fabric.

In this workshop:

  • You will learn how to design and carve your own lino block to create a repeat pattern on fabric.

  • Jess will guide you through all the creative processes to produce your own unique printed designs.

  • A varied and fun day designing, carving and handprinting.

You will produce:

  • Your own lino block, ready to use on the day and in future projects at home.

  • At least one handprinted fabric panel to take home and perhaps sew into something useful.

  • A handprinted teatowel in your new design.

All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring any fabric you would particularly like to print on.
